I just read the W&M notice about Darren and was shocked. He was a great guy, full of life and fun and it was my great pleasure to know him well his early years in college. Though I haven't seen him in many years, I will miss him. My deepest condolences Nicky. Grace and peace, David Nygaard

I went to HS with Darren too Nicky, and I always enjoyed my literal sparring with him.  I am shocked as well to hear about your sudden loss of Darren. I am also envious of the decisions you made to have that unique quality of life together. He was on of the true angels around us. You will always know just exactly that when you see your sweet daughters' eyes open every morning and hear them laugh each day. He would be proud of you and the strength you are providing for those sweet babies. Don't forget to take care of you too!

I recently learned of Darren's passing while visiting the JWHS Class of 1984 reunion site and was deeply saddened. I have fond memories of Darren from high school. He was a great guy then, and it looks as though he continued to impress and impact those around him. Thank you for sharing your family album with us...what an amazing and beautiful experience. I plan to visit Namibia this summer, and I will say a special prayer for Darren, the girls, and the rest of your family while I am there.

I was shocked and saddened when I read about Darren's passing. I remember Darren as such a great guy in high school. He was so fun! It breaks my heart for you, Nicky,and your lovely girls.

Darren was an angel on earth and was a friend to everyone. The next bluegrass song I hear will have a new meaning. Our loss is Heaven's gain. Condolences to Nicky, your beautiful girls and family.

I was shocked and saddened to hear the news of Darren's passing and regret that I lost touch with my old high school friend over the years. I will keep his family in my thoughts and prayers.
